Jeremiah 29:11

You should’ve seen the amount of fun I had making that picture above. It was literally stupid how giddy & proud I was to have actually made that…Even though it only took 5 minutes to make and it doesn’t even look impressive. Yet, I’m pretty darn impressed.

Now I put the picture first so you readers would see and be like, “omg that picture is so cool and hip so maybe what she has to say it cool and worth reading.”

Maybe I’m right. . .Maybe I’m wrong. . .

However, I do know one thing and that is that this is worth reading because Jesus is involved…and Jesus is just freaking awesome.

What I have to say all revolves around the verse above. This verse basically gives me life and brings me so much peace and joy. Let me enlighten you on why:

Every little storm that I’ve been in have been similar. They’ve all revolved around physical issues and injuries that could end my dance career in a split second. Completely changing my life around. OR huge plot twists in life that just change a lot of things in general. . .The one thing that those two have in common is change. My physical issues and multiple injuries have never ended my life with dance…But it could have & that scared the poop out of me. Life plot twists..well they basically turn your life in another direction then what you’ve planned or are accustomed to. When things like this happen I tend to go into my deep, dark hole and I just stay there letting negative thoughts eat me up & I let worry & stress get the best of me.

T H E N I read this verse.

This verse gets me out of of my head with the negativity and reminds me of how wonderful God is and the plan he has for me. It also reminds me that the plans that I may have had for myself mean nothing & my way of walking through life will just me bring harm.

God’s plan is the only one I need to live by. He already has it laid out for me & to me that is such an incredible thought. Especially in the times where I would feel lost & worried, this verse lifts all the worry and stress off my shoulders. When that happens I no longer feel lost & I feel more confident in where I’m going next because I’m walking on Gods path, fulfilling his plan.

This is already 400 words already and that’s too much so I’m going to get to my main reason for sharing this:

I know for a fact that I’m not the only one in this world who needs this kind of encouragement & Jesus love. (yes, i said jesus love..just go with it) This is such a perfect verse to get through the storm you’re in or recovering from (pretty sure recovering from a storm is a thing). I hope that this is a reminder to anyone who reads this that God already has plans for your life and all you have to do is cast your worries & stress onto him and he will guide you through the rest.

Remembering that for me has taken away so much worry & stress & has totally given me a different perspective on life.

10 Things You Want to Do For a Productive Morning.

I know for a fact that we are not the only ones who hate getting up in the morning…Everyone has their own reasons on why they hate mornings. Ours is just that it’s morning and mornings mean you have to get up and do something with your life.

So here we have for you 10 tips on how to get your lazy self out of bed and do something with your life…the peaceful, productive, and stressless way.

Now we will admit that both of us are also the W O R S T  at getting up in the morning. It wasn’t until we starting doing these things and it actually made life easier. Now mornings are our favorite part of the day.

It also made us feel like we were actually doing something with our lives.

Now before you read on don’t get your hopes up…Following our steps to a productive morning doesn’t mean you’re gonna wake up like those non-human people in the movies that are all smiley and pretty looking.

T I P  1 

If you know what the next day holds for you then prepare the night before. We have our days written out in our DIY Planner so we go off of that. We set out clean clothes for the next morning, straighten up surroundings, pack meals & other things they may need to be packed, grind coffee, etc..I think you get the idea.. That way when you wake up you don’t have to worry about doing all the extra things like cleaning and doing all the extra steps of making coffee.

T I P 2

The moment you decide to not reach over and hit snooze for the tenth time GET UP and go straight to doing your face washing, teeth brushing kind of stuff. Don’t continue to lay in bed and scroll through social media or reply to texts that could wait for another 30  minutes.

T I P 3 

Drink 10  H U G E  gulps of water with lemon. (Best time to do this is on an empty stomach) This is great for your digestions which is why we like to have it in the morning.  Sometimes we like to get fancy & add fruit.

You’re going to want to start waking up at the same time every morning to get your body adjusted to early morning. It’s not very fun on weekends, but it will help you out on the other five days of the week. It also helps if you set your alarm for 15 minutes before you actually wanna wake up.

T I P 5

Eat a big, healthy breakfast that’ll give you the energy you need to deal with all the annoying people in your life. (we are planning to share with you next Our Top 7 Favorite Breakfasts. So stay on the look out for that!) This is usually when I’ll put on some music while I dance/cook in the kitchen. When I sit down to eat is when I look ay my phone, reply to texts, scroll through social media, etc. I like saving my phone for this time because it actually makes me eat slower and when i’m done eating it is basically my timer to tell me to get off.

T I P 6 

Make you sure you give yourself at least 30-45 minutes (depending on your schedule) to sit down, drink some coffee (which is a very important part of a productive morning) & blog/journal/read. This will make your morning feel less hectic & strictly scheduled. It also will just calm your mind. I always like to skim through my bible or write down thoughts about the day before or the day ahead.

T I P 7 

Set your own morning routine. The morning will go smoother for you if you don’t go into them blinded. Get into a habit of doing your morning routine and soon enough mornings will become your favorite.

Open your curtains! We kid you not…opening your curtains smacks you in the face with natural light and actually energizes you. We don’t know if that’s a real thing but it really does help. There’s just something about that natural morning light beaming through my windows that make me want to do something with my life. We also like to open our windows for a few minutes, even if it’s cold outside. It’s really nice to get some fresh air in your room.

and last but not least. . .

T I P 10

Start your day with inspiration! (now this is totally different from T I P 6 btw) Whether its reading your bible or its placing your favorite inspirational quote or verse inside of your planner, on your mirror, or on anything in your room/house to give you that perfect start to your day.

This is one of our favorites to bring to our attention in the morning. I then go along my day with this as the main thought in my head.

Organization Is Key

Organization Is Key. But where do we even start? Both Hannah and I are really good at getting things done on time, but we are also really good at getting sidetracked and forgetting to do things. . .This is where our new way of organization comes into place.

Both of us have come up with our own organizational plan for an easy but FUN way to keep our lives straight. . . (which for us is hard) We’re sitting here guessing that other people suck at being organized too so that is why we are sharing our ways of life.

First things first: Get highlighters. Highlighters are my life. They basically changed my life. It’s been proven that highlighting makes you focus more on prioritizing different/many tasks. It helps more with ADD folks who can’t focus and get sidetracked in a matter of seconds. We do not have ADD but we do get sidetracked and focusing on many things is kinda difficult. (plot twist..its actually not been proven but it makes us sound smarter. .)

The second thing you’re probably going to want to do is figure out what tool you feel helps you keep your day, week, and life in order. For us it was daily printables from some of these websites:

These daily printable are so straight forward but make our lives easier. Hopefully it’ll make yours easier too.

Our personal favorite is Scattered Squirrels calendar print outsScattered Squirrels days of the week print outs, (as shown in the pics up above) & the only print out on Simple As That Blog. What we tend to do with these print outs is make our own Daily Planner. Recently I went to Walmart and got a 1 inch binder, sticky notes, pens, & a variety of highlighters. I like my planners to be out in the open so I cleared a spot specially for this binder to lay out flat. In this binder I put all my calendar print outs in first. Following the those print outs I put in my days of the week print outs. Every Sunday night we print out 7 more days of the week pages & set aside our already accomplished pages. In the inside of our binder we have sticky note pads attacked to the binder. This where we write grocery lists, top things to do, projects, etc.

After we get the pages in the binder this is where the fun begins! Sunday night we fill in our days of the week pages (or any page we decide to use) and highlight like c r a z y! I separate all my lists (meals, work, school, appointments56, etc) by color coating them. We just highlight what’s necessary for us in order to organize our lives. As the week goes on I’ll add things that’ll pop up or cross something out if I end up not being able to accomplish it. That is why I usually take a sticky note and stick onto my papers with our Three Top Priorities on it. So I know that no matter what I have to finish those three tasks.

One last thing we do throughout our DIY personal planner is write encouraging sentences and notes on our pages like:

“Smile & Breathe.”

“Take personal time to journal & read through scriptures.” – This I’ll actually put as a To Do on my papers.

“Pray & Be Happy”

These might sound a tad lame BUT they really help you back off of the scheduled mind set and just remind you to make time for the little things that are more important than doing your laundry at a certain time.

All of these are things that can be switched according to your personal favorite organizing habits. We just thought we would share our easy and fun (highlighting is a blast for us because we’re that odd) way to organize your life & plan your weeks.

1-Min Breakfast Banana Bread (GF)

Kerri Anne and I adore turning desserts into healthy (or at least mostly healthy) breakfasts. We came across a recipe for 1-minute banana bread. You basically throw all the ingredients into a bowl and microwave it.We really enjoy taking super simple recipes and putting our own spin on it, so that’s what we decided to do with this banana bread. We love pumpkin spice, so we added that in. It’s not your typical banana bread, but it is delicious, and it is the perfect breakfast for a chilly winter morning. (Add a cup of coffee with coconut milk creamer next to that banana bread for extra perfection)

1/2 overripe banana
1 T coconut flour (or any type of gluten free flour)
1 T of nut butter (cashew butter tastes the best but we used peanut butter)
2-3 T of whole milk
chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla
For pumpkin spice banana bread: 1 Tsp of cinnamon & pumpkin pie spice
For regular just add a pinch of nutmeg and cinnamon.

 

Make the Banana Bread
combined the mashed banana and coconut flour in your bowl
then add the peanut butter and mix (it should be very thick)
a tablespoon at a time you add your milk until its thick but creamy
once mixed add chocolate chips, vanilla, cinnamon, pumpkin spice or just cinnamon and nutmeg.

Honestly, it doesn’t really matter how you combined all the ingredients…It won’t even matter in the end. It’s not like it’s going to blow up in your face… It’s not like some formula you had to memorize in Chemistry.

Put in the microwave for 2 minutes and 15 seconds. We would suggest taking it out as it cooks until you get the bread how you like it.

We woke up to a lot of snow, so something warm and perfectly sweet (wasn’t too sweet but  wasn’t bland) was perfect. We chose to sit in front of a fireplace, watch Chopped, drink coffee, and snack on some fruit along with our Banana Bread. Hope you enjoy this lovely recipe!

Welcome to Our Mess

You have just entered into the blogging world of the Canadian & the
half-Canadian. We have no idea what we’re doing so just go with it.

Let us first start out by telling you who we actually are. The Canadian, Hannah, is the blonde. The half-Canadian, Kerri Anne, is the brunette. That’s basically all you need to know. Also, even though we don’t look a thing alike & we came from two different countries, we basically are the same person. We are the same person. It’s kinda scary.

You’re probably wondering why our blog is called Wednesday Sisters. Well let us enlighten you: every Wednesday it is our weekly routine to sit in a coffee shop (not Starbucks. We’re not that basic) & drink coffee for hours while we attempt to do school. Usually we just end up laughing, crying, and thinking about what we should do with our lives. Today we had that light bulb moment and now we’re here. Writing words on the internet for people to (hopefully) read. We were told by Kerri Anne’s dad that if we make this interesting then people might actually read it. So that’s what we’re gonna try to do.
